Webcammax Review (Written)

Do you need a way to spice up you webcam. Well there are many webcam spicers and what not. But NONE, That i have found are as good as Webcammax. Webcammax is a "FREE" (Technicly) Program that you can find HERE: or just go to www.webcammax.com

Webcammax is a program that you can use to edit the look of your webcam on the fly and air. Its has custimizable themes and lots of features including PinP (Picture in Picture) (Up to 18!!!), Face Detection for Masks!, and many many more.

Specs:

Now, the version i am reviewing is 5.1.0.6, It's supported resolutions are 176X144, 320X240, 352X258, and 620X480, (by the way, it doesnt support a 16:9 aspect ratio, only 4:3. Supports recording videos and snapshots. (jpg, bmp, jif, or png for snapshots, asf or Non-loss AVI for Videos. all with cusimizable audio and video inputs. and you can even choose where the videos and snapshots are saved.(which is Insanly great.)

Great Features:

Now there are some cool and usefull features including static and moving backgrounds (but that does need some work for low light situations), Masks, Frams, Emotions, Text, and the ability to make your own.

Also there is the ability to minimize to the tray if you dont want all that clutter when you are using it.

and probably my favorite feature in this, is the fact that you can use your desktop as a webcam.

Yes it can be used as a video source of you desktop. You can either FullScreen, Follow Cursor,Specific window, or Specific Area. And you have the ability to hide or show the cursor.

Themes/Look:

The Gui or user interface on this program is great. its well layed out and great. By Default (For me) There was 15 already pre download themes. (my favorite being simpledark) There all pretty cool and hard to choose just one to use. So, its my suggestion that you use Simple Dark)

Complaints:

There are only a few complaints with the program, one being that you cannot control the Frams Per Second (Unless that is what the webcam source rate is) if that is whats its called, then why dont they just put frams per second. Its alot easier to understand.(in my opinion)

The Price is my second complaint. Its quite alot for the programs use. I mean, Some people just want to have fun with there webcam for a little wile while they talk with there friends, But paying a fortune is just to not worth it for me. But they do have some pretty sweet deals for it and other programs.

All in All:

The program was fun, effective, but alitle pricey. Also, i hear there customer service is great. :)
